MORE TO IT
It’s rarely just fashion. What about strategy? What about the meaning? What about the person wearing it? See, for me, there’s more to it.
Dig in with me one fabulous blog post at a time.

Rant: Should We Tell Some White Dudes To Stop Talking To Us About Style?
Do you ever read a tweet or a line in an article and go, “Whoa, that’s something.” The words you just read make you pause, literally and figuratively. I am so thankful that thoughts can push me way, way back and entice me to rethink what I thought I knew
What's My Deal With Shorts?
I’ve been told I think about certain things too much. I believe there’s a lot of truth to that. Let’s be clear: no one is saying that I am especially wise in my in-depth thinking, rather, it’s what certain things I spend my time thinking about that may be interesting.
Pride 2018: How I Hope to Be a Better LGBTQ Ally
All around the globe, June marks the most mega major month that we celebrate Pride. As an ally of LGBTQ persons and the community at large I feel that positive, inclusive changes have happened, thank Dumbledore, but I am acutely aware that I have so much more work to do.
TMI: My November Blues
After a few busy weeks, things are starting to slow down for me. I can take a breather before it’s nutcrackers again. It’s that calm before the holiday storm state. With that aforementioned feeling of extra time, some of my more hard-to-reconcile thoughts are creeping in. Thanks brain.
Open Letter: I Dislike Golf Clothes
While I am no insider, I have spent more time playing and following your sport than I ever thought I would. The things you do for the ones you love, am I right? Fore! I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not the hugest fan of yours. I’m not sure I’m even a fan of your play, really. Hear me out.
Like Any Good Canadian Would Say, Sorry, America.
The post I had ready for today was trashed. I, like so many others, was totally shocked as the 2016 American Election results poured in last night. If you asked me a day ago I would have laughed if you told me that was party or leadership I thought I was waking up a neighbour to. I hoped that my neighbours chose love over fear. I dreamed that progress would be the choice of Americans over hate. I wished for a woman in a pantsuit rather than being Trumped.
How My RBF Impacts My Style
For most of us, the face we are born with is the face we have for life. I was born with a serious face. What does a serious face look like? Well my version of it manifests like so: strong brow bones with angular brows; sharp, defined nose and jaw line; and maybe the most influential feature, my down-turned slim lipped mouth. Likely if I had any one of these features one its own it may not have such a severe effect. But I do. More simply put, I am in possession of a resting bitch face (RBF).
"Flawless" and "Perfect" are Over
In the pursuit of the ultimate experience, perfect outfit, or best dressed, I fear we diminish the things in life that can simply just be good. Or the things that truly are fabulous and deserve a celebration. Or at the very least the disregard for the appreciation for individual product recommendations for individual people living individual lives. How can one shoe or shirt possibly be “perfect” for me? The brand or source didn’t ask about my individual taste, my lifestyle or ask me if I truly wanted it. They don’t know me.
