Calgary is a casual city in a lot of aspects. Come to think of it, basically all aspects. I am struggling to find an example of something that is buttoned up or formal. I dare you to bring up a not casual example. If you can think one up I’ll buy you a distanced take-out coffee.

It’s not very often that I become outright smitten. Aside from dogs or beautiful shoes, there’s not much ooey-gooey going on inside this frigid unit. If you feel a “but” coming on, you’re correct. Because not even cold-hearted me can escape the modern fairytale-like charm of the upcoming royal wedding.

Summer is just around the corner. Many 20 and 30 something young things calendars are full of friends and family inviting them to be a part of them getting hitched. In most cases there is an engagement period in advance of the big day. With engagement comes jewelry. More specifically diamond rings. It’s big business.
